Steve Ferris

Steve has been in the property sector for over 35 years. He started his career in 1987 with J Sainsbury as a development surveyor, before moving to Gazeley Properties (then part of the Asda Group). During his 8 years with Gazeley, Steve was part of the team which grew the company’s distribution development business and the strategic land bank.

In 1997, Steve joined Kingspark Developments, which at that time was a private industrial developer based in Solihull. While at Kingspark, Steve was responsible for the acquisition and development of schemes at Leeds, Birmingham, Coventry and Marston Gate (near Milton Keynes). Following the acquisition of Kingspark by Prologis in 1998, Steve became Vice-President responsible for UK development. In 2000, Steve left Prologis with former colleagues and set up Astral Developments. The new business specialised in industrial and mixed use schemes throughout the UK. AstraI acted as development manager for a number of funds including AXA, Standard Life, Prudential and RREEF. It also undertook joint ventures with Legal & General, Apollo Real Estate Advisors and Blackstone. In parallel with its development activities, Astral assembled a substantial land bank of over 900 acres.

Astral was sold to Prologis in 2007, having developed over 5 million sq ft of floorspace, and with a land bank of approximately 900 acres. Following the sale to Prologis, Steve returned to Prologis for two years as Senior Vice-President responsible for UK development.

From 2012, Steve was Managing Director of Cuvette Strategic Land and was responsible for assembling a portfolio of UK strategic distribution sites which was acquired by Mountpark Developments between 2019 and 2024.
